Creative Towel Holder

I made this towel holder for three reasons.  First is because my ugly, plain jane one fell out of the wall (I’m sure my monkeys were hanging on the towels). Second, I could not find but one stud in the wall and it was not centered where I needed it. Third, I needed art on the wall as well (needed to jazz things up).  As you can see, I killed three birds with one stone.  Yay for me!

I had purchased the towel rings some time ago but had the problem of no studs.  Additionally, I had extra wood from when I ripped out our entertainment center.  To complete this project I did have to hit good ol’ HomeGoods (man I love that place).  First I mounted the  towel rings (I believe inside out, but I liked it that way  and all my stuff could fit on the wood).   Next, I screwed the whole piece into the only central stud (note that it was screwed plum center on the wood, but that doesn’t matter because you won’t see the screws).  Finally, I measured the distance as to where I needed to hammer nails into the wood to hang the art piece.  What’s really cool about this project is that you could put a cute sepia photo of the kids, a neat weaving, driftwood, ….. whatever you want in place of the wood block art I used.

I had this piece of wood left over from an entertainment center I ripped out. I screwed two towel rings to the wood then screwed the whole piece onto the wall so that is was centered (although it was centered on the board)

Homemade towel holder when you don't have enough studs in the wall.
