Behind the Artistic Egg

Hi and welcome to Artistic Egg, a blog that showcases fun projects I tackle, (hopefully) yummy and mostly healthy food I make (my youngest is a Type 1 Diabetic), fantastic places I visit (mostly in areas around Austin and San Antonio, Texas), and beautiful people I meet along the way.  My name is Alison McLaughlin and I’m a jack(ette) of all trades.  I am a momma to three beautiful, amazing boys and wife to a gorgeous, intelligent man that fills my entire life with LOVE.

I own an adorable day spa in central San Antonio that is filled with the most amazing peeps and guests.  My husband, Lance, and I started the spa 22 years ago and thank goodness it’s still surviving during these crazy times!  I also co-founded and am co-owner with my husband, of Hill Country Landscaping. My most current love and passion (besides mi familia) is REAL ESTATE.  I’ve been a Realtor for 11 years and only wish I would’ve started selling Real Estate sooner. Real Estate is a part of my DNA thanks to generations of real estate investors. (Here’s my plug) If you’re looking for a Real Estate Agent, ANYWHERE, I can help!

So what’s this Artistic Egg about you ask?  Well let me es-splain.  For starters, I am also a lover of chickens, one of the best pets you can own (in my opinion)! Chickens are sweet and love to have their backs rubbed, they eat the bugs in the garden (and your garden if you’re not careful),  you can use their poop to make amazing compost, AND for those that eat eggs they make food without killing them! I  plan to pluck through my plethora of pics and show our life with chickens, can’t promise it will be anytime soon but stay tuned if you’re interested.  That’s just one branch of the  meaning behind the “Egg” part.  “Egg” can also be interpreted as noggin, you know, brain.  The “Artistic” part, well as you can imagine it means that this blog will be filled with lots of goodies.

I hope you find this blog interesting and inspiring.  Thank you for following!
