Art out of Repurposed Quilt and Window Pane

Framed Quilt Scrap

Have you ever found quilts at a garage sale or antique mall for a killer price but felt guilty buying it because it has a hole or stain on it, and figured it would just stay tucked away with all your other fabrics?  Have you ever found old bungalow window panes with glass still in tact screaming at you to take them home and do something cool with them but just know it’ll sit outside or in some room looking at you daily making you feel like a hoarder?  Well let me give you a good excuse to let these lovelies into your life.  I stumbled upon this great inspiration at Gene’s Antiques Mall (my favorite treasure chest) outside of Wimberley, TX.  You can use any frame but in this picture a section of quilt is framed in an old window pane.  I will now be on a mission to find a steal on a crapy old quilt, get my hands on an old window pane and duplicate this same idea.  Here’s to inspiration!
