Todays finds were from Creekside Vintage in Wimberley (of course). My personal tagline is “I have a thing for everything”, that being said, I have a thing for aprons! And I do really use them, for reals. I especially fancy the tie-at-waist kind.
Why I love aprons:
- Perfect excuse to scavenge and buy at antique and thrift stores (as if I need one).
- They can be flattering (as long as I suck it in).
- You keep clean while cooking/baking (unless you’re a total PigPin in the kitchen).
- You can wipe your dirty paws on them (only buy ones you can wash).
- Gives me something to blog about.
And that adorable 1942 leather vest you ask? That is for my little guy, Landon. Again, another item I saw before and didn’t buy. I even photographed it just to add salt to the wounds. As soon as I saw it I could see Landon in it. He is always dressing in some kind of cowboy or camo gear, loves hats (all kinds), gloves, jackets. Poor guy, I think he got my “love for everything” trait. What the darn is wrong with me? I think at the time I was trying to practice self control with my spending (that’s a joke). Of course I went back and thank goodness I didn’t have to pull a fit because it was still there. And man am I so happy to buy it! Landon LOVES it. It barely fits, but who cares. He was just intrigued with the photo of the little boy wearing it in 1942. He said “Wow, he really wanted to be a cowboy.” Turns out the boy did become a cowboy and still owns a ranch that was handed down to him. I love when there’s a little history to an item, just adds so much more value. Landon even ran back into the room and said “I just love it so much! You’re the best mommy ever.” Tear, tear. Such a sweet kid 😉
